NotMyToll · the toll-hold exception desk for Florida private tag agencies

Software for Florida private tag agencies to handle renewals blocked by toll holds

Short answer

NotMyToll helps tag agencies manage renewals stalled by unresolved toll holds. It organizes receipts and release documents, tracks each reported hold, and prepares the case for clerk review. It is for the renewals that stay blocked after an agency's normal payment and clearance process. Florida law lets the counter proceed when the customer's name is off the stop list or the customer presents a receipt from the entity that reported the hold showing the outstanding amount was paid.[1] NotMyToll keeps that proof organized one hold at a time, and the agency clerk verifies it.

The gap it covers

Toll authorities add and delete registration stops electronically, and the counter satisfies a stop with proof of payment from the reporting agency.[2] After a customer acts to remove a stop, FLHSMV says the system can take one to three business days to clear it.[3] A payment can also land on a different balance than the one behind the hold: THEA says a SunPass payment made after an account went to collections isn't applied to the collections amount.[4] Those are the renewals NotMyToll is built for.

How NotMyToll organizes per-hold proof

  • Intake starts with what stopped the renewal: paid but still blocked, missing payment or release proof, multiple reported holds, or payment destination unclear. Disputed charges, wrong plates, contested liability and court matters get referral and status tracking only.
  • Each reported hold has its own record, with where the information came from and when it was checked. One paid invoice can't close a case with several holds.
  • Receipts and release documents are read field by field: issuer, account or invoice reference, payment date, amount, remaining balance and vehicle identifiers. Fields stay unconfirmed until the clerk checks them against the original.
  • An office evidence checklist records what your office accepts, from whom, through which channel, and when that was last confirmed. Offices differ: Manatee County, for example, lists what a receipt must show and allows 3 business days for receipts sent online.[5]
  • A cover sheet goes on top of the original official evidence. It is not a release. A hold is recorded as cleared only when the clerk verifies it, with a date and a source.
  • The status board separates awaiting customer, awaiting official evidence, ready for clerk review, clerk accepted evidence and renewal completed.

How it fits alongside your counter software

Agencies already run their registration work on counter systems and have their own payment and clearance process. Keep both. NotMyToll doesn't replace them and doesn't take payments. It picks up only the cases that stay stalled after that process, and the roles stay the same:

What the agency report measures

Renewals completed after referral come first, then net clerk minutes saved, repeat visits and total support time.

Quick answers

Common follow-up questions

Does NotMyToll replace our counter or registration software?

No. Keep your counter system and your existing payment and clearance process. NotMyToll is for the renewals that stay blocked after that process, and your clerk still verifies the evidence and processes the renewal.

Can NotMyToll clear a hold or issue a release?

No. NotMyToll never issues a clearance or a release. Under FLHSMV procedure RS-37, a stop is deleted by the agency that reported it or satisfied with proof of payment. NotMyToll records a hold as cleared only when your clerk verifies it, with a date and a source.[2]

Does it take toll payments?

No. The customer pays the reporting entity through its official channels. NotMyToll never takes, holds or moves customer money.
